Meadow Twilight
This piece was designed as part of the opening celebration for a "meadowlands" installation at the D. H. Stowe Botanical Gardens in Gastonia, NC. It tries to capture a meadow at the "in-between" time, just after the sun has slipped behind the hills. As darkness becomes night, the green shades of the landscape transition towards purples, lavenders, and blues.
Materials: Hand dyed and commercial cotton fabric, polyester batting, cotton and polyester thread
Techniques: fused appliqué, machine pieced and quilted
