Under the Watchful Eye
of Queen Charlotte
The photo “tiles” that form Queen Charlotte’s face are images of people, places, and events that have shaped her namesake city: Charlotte, North Carolina. This is one in a series of five Queen Charlotte photomosaics. The other quilts show different views of her face, all of which were taken from images of a Queen Charlotte statue that stands in the heart of the city. The quilt back contains a key to identify images and photo credits.
